PORN

The big issue circling dA is porn, and it's come to be so that, if anyone was to put the word "porn" in their tag on any deviation, then they're easily guaranteed at least 100 pageviews easy.

Fun Fact: dA brings up "54,354 results for porn"
Fun Fact #2: dA now offers a "Pornographic Connoisseur"

Now, I've already argued about it until I was blue in the face in the comments of tired so I won't even start that here. But I will say...

deviantART is for ART. Taking a picture of a vagina or a penis doesn't mean it's art. The picture has to bring forth emotion, beauty...not just sex.

And, clearly no matter what dA's rules say, Porn is now allowed becuase so many reports of one particular artist have been ignored. There's other reasons, but one of the main ones that causes this to happen is due to his popularity. It's a wellknown fact wherever in the world you go. Popularity rules. Plain and simple. Regardless of anything else...

Yet, if someone less popular was doing exactly what she/he was doing, they would've been banned from dA a long time ago...

P.S. Saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is a cop out. It's like saying a woman was raped because she was "begging for it..." It's what the guilty say to try and worm their way out of what they knew was wrong in the first place.

And, we could go back and forth for hours about the "dehumanization and objectifying" of women that this "porn" causes...but without even bringing that into question, we still have a problem set before us.

Something needs to be done.

Period.

That's all I have to say on the subject.
